Mix Tape
Synopsis
Daniel was the first boy to make Alison a mix tape. That was twenty years ago and Alison hasn’t thought about him in a very long time. Even if she had, she might not have called him ‘the one that got away’ – after all, she’d been the one who ran. Decades later, Daniel follows her on Twitter, with a link to a song from their shared past. For two blissful minutes, Alison is no longer a wife and mother in Sydney; she is sixteen in Sheffield, dancing in polka-dot leggings. She cannot help but respond in kind. And so begins a new mix tape. Alison and Dan exchange songs – some new, some old – across oceans and time zones, across a lifetime of different experiences. They have spouses and families of their own now, but they’re not really breaking any rules, are they? Until one of them does something that will change everything...
Mix Tape is based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name from former BBC producer, Jane Sanderson
